Our Christening Cake is baked to order at our West Hampstead bakery using real butter and free-range eggs, with no artificial preservatives. It comes as a medium 2 tiered cake (40–45 portions) or a large 2 tiered cake (55–60 portions), in Vanilla Strawberry Jam & Buttercream, Chocolate, Chocolate Oreo, Chocolate Ganache, Chocolate Hazelnut or Vanilla Passion Fruit. Pick it up from our bakery or have it delivered across London.

Celebrate a precious moment with our exquisite Christening Cake, elegantly adorned in a neutral theme. The cake is elegantly decorated with a dried bouquet of soft tones and highlighted with cascading edible gold leaves.

The cross cake topper is included as per image. Flowers: non-edible, dried flowers and flower types might vary slightly, subject to availability.

Inside: Four layers (bottom tier) and three layers (top tier) of sponge cake, filled with buttercream and any flavour-specific fillings between each layer, in your chosen flavour.

Outside: Finished with vanilla buttercream in the designed colour scheme.

Cake Message: we do not recommend to have a message on this cake for the most elegant look.

  • Our bakes are made in a kitchen where gluten, milk, eggs, soya, sesame, nuts and sulphites are present. Some ingredients may also be produced in facilities that handle peanuts. As a result, we are unable to guarantee that our products are completely free from these allergens.

  • You can either choose store pickup (free) or delivery option (with extra fee). This becomes available as you check out.

    • Pickup: At our Store: Tuesday - Saturday, at Em Cakes, 332 West End Lane, NW6 1LN (Sundays and Mondays are closed)

    • Delivery: Delivery is available with a fee starting from £18.50. The postcodes we deliver to include:

    Proof of delivery: Upon delivery, we will take photo proof of delivery as confirmation that the order has been received and fulfilled for our records.

  • 2 Tiered Cake: Bottom tier has 4 layers of sponges and Top tier has 3 layers of sponges, with buttercream icing in between. 

    Average: 8’’ and 6’’; Large: 9’’ and 7’’

    • Sponge: Our cake sponges have moist texture and buttery taste.

    • Icing: We use Swiss meringue buttercream which is light, fluffy and mildly sweet.

    • Cakes are to be stored in the cake box, in the fridge in and then taken out to come to room temperature for serving. Typically 1-2 hours before serving.

    • We recommend serving your cake within 48 hours of receiving for optimal freshness!

  • How should I transport my cake from pickup?

    In a car.

    • Please make sure you place the cake box flat on the floor in the front, instead of the car seats.

    Hot weather:

    • If it is hot, make sure your car’s air conditioning is on at least 30’ before arriving at pickup and during the transport. It is best to get some ice packs ready to put around the cake box.

    Once you’re home or at the venue, keep the cake refrigerated in the cake box and bring it to room temperature before serving (typically 1-2 hours out of the fridge).

    We don’t recommend driving with a cake for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if it is hot).

  • Cake Dowel: There cake dowels in the middle of the cake for keep cake stable. This is not edible and needs to be removed before serving.
