Our Vintage Rose Cake is baked to order in our Hampstead bakery using real butter, free-range eggs and no artificial preservatives, with pickup or delivery available across London. It's available in three tall-cake sizes and eight flavours, so you can tailor it exactly to your celebration.

With lovely retro inspired style, this cake is great for all occasions such as birthdays, kids or adults events and parties. It is elegantly decorated with vintage border piping, and hand crafted little buttercream flowers around.

Inside: Four layers of sponge cake in tall cake style, filled with buttercream and any flavour-specific fillings between each layer, in your chosen flavour.

Outside: Finished with vanilla buttercream in the designed colour scheme.

Cake Message: Option to include a custom message during checkout.

  • Our bakes are made in a kitchen where gluten, milk, eggs, soya, sesame, nuts and sulphites are present. Some ingredients may also be produced in facilities that handle peanuts. As a result, we are unable to guarantee that our products are completely free from these allergens.

  • You can either choose store pickup (free) or delivery option (with extra fee). This becomes available as you check out.

    • Pickup: At our Store: Tuesday - Saturday, at Em Cakes, 332 West End Lane, NW6 1LN (Sundays and Mondays are closed)

    • Delivery: Delivery is available with a fee starting from £18.50. The postcodes we deliver to include:

    Proof of delivery: Upon delivery, we will take photo proof of delivery as confirmation that the order has been received and fulfilled for our records.

  • All our cakes are handmade in small batches, with no preservatives, just freshly baked goodness!

    Choose your favourite flavour below:

    • Vanilla: A classic pairing of vanilla sponge and smooth vanilla buttercream.

    • Vanilla, Strawberry Jam & Buttercream: Vanilla sponge layered with strawberry jam and smooth vanilla buttercream.

    • Vanilla Passion Fruit: Vanilla sponge with tangy passion fruit curd and passion fruit buttercream.

    • Chocolate: Chocolate sponge paired with smooth chocolate buttercream.

    • Chocolate Ganache: Chocolate sponge with a rich chocolate ganache filling and chocolate buttercream.

    • Chocolate Oreo: Chocolate sponge with Oreo buttercream and Oreo cookie pieces.

    • Chocolate Hazelnut: Chocolate sponge with hazelnut buttercream and roasted hazelnut pieces.

    • Red Velvet: Red velvet sponge paired with mild cream cheese buttercream.

  • Tall cake has 4 layers of sponges with buttercream icing in between.

    • Sponge: Our cake sponges have moist texture and buttery taste.

    • Icing: We use Swiss meringue buttercream which is light, fluffy and mildly sweet.

    • Vintage cakes usually have a lot of icing on the outside for decoration. You can leave it on when serving if you prefer.

    • Cakes are to be stored in the cake box, in the fridge in and then taken out to come to room temperature for serving. Typically 1-2 hours before serving.

    • We recommend serving your cake within 48 hours of receiving for optimal freshness!

  • How should I transport my cake from pickup?

    In a car.

    • Please make sure you place the cake box flat on the floor in the front, instead of the car seats.

    Hot weather:

    • If it is hot, make sure your car’s air conditioning is on at least 30’ before arriving at pickup and during the transport. It is best to get some ice packs ready to put around the cake box.

    Once you’re home or at the venue, keep the cake refrigerated in the cake box and bring it to room temperature before serving (typically 1-2 hours out of the fridge).

    We don’t recommend driving with a cake for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if it is hot).
